In the midst of the increasingly popular nu-disco music hurricane comes a fresh four-track EP from one of the movements most promising talents, Stark D. Taking cues from rock, soul, funk and disco, The Roxxanie EP arrives on the 13th February via Artlab Records. Just stretching his limbs in terms of his discography, in less than one year the Peterborough-based producer has gathered some series. 'Roxxanie' got its maiden plays during Stark D's Cream Couture Radio Session Set and the takeovers of Ibiza Global Radio. The EP steps out of the blocks with definite verve. The title track, 'Roxxanie', a nod to jazzy-house, massages a buttery-smooth stab bassline. On the flip side, 'Do U Feel' is a rolling analogue slice of deep house brilliance. Here, Stark D pitches hi-hat and hyperactive synth movements atop a robust bassline. It proves a homage to the brand of Nu-Disco celebrated right from the genres genesis. Accomplished with remixes by L.O.O.P and Gui Marques, Artlab presents Roxxanie...
